Nuno couldn’t face another winter in Nottingham.

It has been reported that the reason Nuno Espirito Santo imploded with a disgruntled speech during last August’s press conference is because he couldn’t face another winter in Nottingham.

The Portuguese manager felt that he just had to upset Marinakis to get out before the weather set in.

“I don’t know how you people live like this,” said Nuno, 51, speaking to Decanter Magazine – Decanter.com | Wine Reviews & News, Learn About Wine – “I agree with Renan Lodi, Nottingham is depressing for six months of the year, from as early as late September.”

Fans and pundits alike were left shocked following Nuno Espirito Santo’s candid press conference in which he opened up and expressed concerns about the state of the Nottingham Forest squad, the relationship between Technical Director, Edu, and the owner, Evangelos Marinakis.

Nuno couldn’t face another winter in this $#itho/e.

“It’s dark from 4 pm for three months of the year,” continued Nuno, “and the temperature rarely rises above 10 degrees Celsius from November to April.”

When asked if last month’s speech was self-sabotage, Nuno concluded, “It would’ve been suicide staying in this city much longer. I had to do something to get out.”

Nuno concluded by saying, “It’s deeply unsettling at the moment for everyone. I just want the fans to realise that Nottingham is like a Wilfred Owen poem to me. I look around and I see all this misery on an unprecedented scale. There’s an abundance of homeless people, and McDonald’s wrappers everywhere. Nobody seems to want to do anything about it.”

“Inequality is just getting worse, and I couldn’t face another winter in Nottingham. It’s a $#itho/e.”

In March, Brazilian left-back, Renan Rodi, explained what he hated most about playing for Nottingham Forest, echoing Nuno’s concerns about Nottingham’s $hi[]y climate, and his inability to face another winter in Nottingham.

It’s cloudy all the f@#%in’ time.

Lodi, 27, told the Nottingham Evening Post, “It was an extremely difficult adaptation because the sun never came out there! It was cloudy all the f@#%in’ time – it never stops raining – and by 3 pm, it was already really dark.” – Renan Lodi names the one thing he disliked the most about playing for Nottingham Forest.

Subsequently, the Nuno Espirito Santo chapter has now come to an end, and on Tuesday, Nottingham Forest announced that they had appointed Ange Postecoglou as the First Team Head Coach.
