Following a turbulent start to the 2025/26 season, a spokesperson for West Ham United has confirmed that West Ham are happy to finish 17th in the Premier League.
West Ham United travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, and the club has confirmed that they are expected to lose, but it’s okay because they have no ambition.
Playing crap and happy to finish 17th
Conceding eight goals in the first two games, many fans are bitterly disappointed and calling for Harry Potter to be sacked.
Following an opening-day defeat to newcomers Sunderland, West Ham were thrashed 5-1 by the billionaire club Chelsea.
Sunderland were certainly up for the challenge on the opening day at home. They have strengthened the squad with some interesting signings, and they went into the game with spirit and determination.
However, West Ham went up to Sunderland with the enthusiasm of a Tory backbencher. They didn’t show up and went to sleep after a few minutes.
West Ham travelled to Wolves and suffered an early exit in the Carabao Cup, losing 3-2, which provided further ammunition for the opinion that West Ham United are content with finishing 17th in the league and not progressing in any cup competition.
Nobody believes West Ham United can beat Nottingham Forest.
West Ham fan, Reggie Kray, 42, said, “It’s going to be a big ask, but 17th is achievable if we continue to play crap and get hammered by Forest. I don’t know any football fan who believes that West Ham can actually take a point from the game at the City Ground.”
West Ham may be playing crap and happy to finish 17th, but fine margins mean that every game is difficult to predict, and the result could be a lot tighter than anticipated.
